Turkey Trot and Tot Trot

This year's theme: WILL RUN FOR FOOD!

Join us for a Thanksgiving run from the club.

The 1K Tot Trot (for kids 12 and under) starts at 8:45 am.

The Turkey Trot starts at 9:00 am and you can choose to run a 4, 6 or 9 mile course (see below for maps)

"I am so sick that all I want to do is sit in the steamroom!"

Couch to 5k

Running for beginners, from Couch to 5k and beyond

Too many people have been turned off of running simply by trying to start off too fast. Their bodies rebel and they wind up miserable, wondering why anyone would possibly want to do this to themselves.
You should ease into your running program gradually. In fact, the beginners' program we teach is less of a running regimen than a walking and jogging program. The idea is to transform you from couch potato to runner, getting you running three miles (or 5K) on a regular basis in just two months.

Past my Best By Date?

I have been a competitive runner for over 30 years. That in itself should signal that perhaps it is time to throw in the towel; retire, start a book club, anything other than race. It's kind of like a gambling problem. I run, it hurts and it's slow(er). I try it again. It still hurts and it's still slow(er). Then one day I get a payoff. I have a great workout. I hit the times I used to hit and I actually feel good! So I continue and then the pattern repeats itself. These payoffs get fewer and further between.
